SHORT PACKAGE

Tour MUL 01 – Mulu Caves (02 days 01 night fullboard)

Day 01 – Meet on arrival at Mulu Airstrip and transfer to the Park’s guesthouse.  After lunch, depart for a 3km plank walk through peat swamp forest to visit Lang Cave and Deer Cave.  Explore the cave passage, its inhabitants and view the “Garden of Eden”.  In the late afternoon, witness the flight of thousand of bats on their feeding forays before return to the guesthouse for dinner and overnight stay.  (L,D)

Day 02 – After breakfast, depart by motorized longboat going up river against the many rapids, poling in the crystal clear water of the Melinau river to visit Wind Cave, Clearwater Cave  with picnic lunch at Clearwater Spring.   Return by longboat drifting or poling down the river for bird watching, visit a Penan Settlement and transfer to the Mulu Airstrip for flight departure to Miri to connect onward flight.  (B,L)

NOTE:- Dress casually, wear tennis shoes or thongs, swim suit, bring along binocular, insect repellent, touch light and raincoat.

Tour MUL 03 – Mulu Pinnacles (04 days 03 nights fullboard)

Day 01 – Meet on arrival at Mulu Airstrip and transfer to Royal Mulu Resort.  Afternoon, depart for a 3km plank walk through peat swamp forest to visit Lang Cave and Deer Cave.  Explore the cave passage, its inhabitants and view the “Garden of Eden”.  In the late afternoon, witness the flight of thousand of bats on their feeding forays before return to the guesthouse for dinner and overnight stay.  (D)

Day 02 – After breakfast, depart by motorized longboat going upriver against the many rapids, poling in the crystal clear water of the Melinau river. Visit a Penan Settlement, Wind Cave, Clearwater Cave with picnic-lunch at Clearwater Spring.   Proceed by longboat further up the river negotiating more rapids, tricky bends on the crystal clear water underneath the cool thick over-hanging jungle foliage for about 2 hours to reach Long Lutut.  Then trek through the jungle for about 2 hours to reach Camp 5, located at the foot hill of Gunung Api, dinner and overnight Camp 5.   (B,L,D)

Day 03 – After breakfast, comes a physically strenuous climb for about 4 hours to the “view point” of Gunung Api to catch the spectacular sight of the magnificent limestone Pinnacles soaring to as high as 50 meters or more about the tree tops  with box-lunch before descending to Camp 5, dinner and overnight at Camp 5.  (B,L,D)

Day 04 – After breakfast, trek back to Long Lutut then by longboat to Clearwater Spring for lunch. Transfer to Mulu Airport for departure flight. (B, L)

NOTE:- Bring along good trekking shoes, thongs, raincoat, swim suit, sweater, torch light, insect repellent, waterproof gloves, sleeping bag, water bottles and high energy giving food.
